2024 Month of the Ocean

The annual celebration in the country of the 2024 Month of the Ocean (MOO) has just started. As a kick off of the 2024 celebration, the Department of Environment and Natural Resources- DENR-Biodiversity Management Bureau, PA Management Office of the Siargao Island Protected Landscape and Seascape, DENR Caraga, LGU of General Luna, in partnership with the Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources, Planet CORA, USAID through the SIBOL Project, ASEAN Centre for Biodiversity, Oceana Philippines, UNTVOcean Care Initiative, and Municipality of Del Carmen, held the MOO 2024 Ocean Jam: Sing for the Seas at the General Luna Boulevard, in Siargao Island, at 6:00PM last May 1, 2024.

 

 

The free concert which was livestreamed on BMB’s Facebook page, featured musical performances by these amazing local bands: The Morph, Tribu Yagit, and Sassy. The musical event was seen as a way to bring people together to celebrate our oceans’ beauty and importance, while raising awareness about the urgent need to protect them towards a brighter, bluer economy. Those who joined the celebration also enjoyed the giveaways from the partners’ booths during the event.
