The Philippine Clearing House Mechanism (Phil CHM) operates thru an information technology network called the BIOWEB.PH established thru a Memorandum of Agreement among various government agencies, Non Government Organizations (NGO)’s, Academe and the private sector.
BIOWEB.PH has a Governing Committee composed of seven (7) members with BMB as ex-officio member.
The Biodiversity Management Bureau (BMB) as the National Focal Point for the Philippine Clearing House Mechanism (PCHM) serves as the Central Coordinating Agency of the BIOWEB. PH. BMB act as the communication channel between the national and regional levels and the Secretariat of the Convention on Biological Diversity. It also promote and facilitate activities in support of technical and scientific cooperation
The network was established to:
- facilitate the sharing of data and information about biological diversity for all stakeholders in the country;
- provide effective information services to facilitate the implementation of the national biodiversity strategies and action plans;
- provide capacity-building and support biodiversity initiatives of PhilCHM Network partners.
