The Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) has recently created the Biodiversity Multi-Sectoral Advisory Council (BMSAC) compose of biodiversity experts to provide technical inputs and expert advice on critical issues and matters affecting the biodiversity and governance of the integrated protected areas of the Philippines.

Created through an Special Order, the advisory council is composed of experts from Non-Government Organization and the academe. The Forest Foundation Philippines was designated as the Secretariat which shall provide assistance to the DENR through the Biodiversity Management Bureau in organizing meetings and related activities of the advisory council.
