The DENR-Biodiversity Management Bureau launches Story Book Contest to start the 2022 World Wildlife Day Celebration

The DENR-Biodiversity Management Bureau launces the โ€œ๐Œ๐š๐ค๐ž ๐˜๐จ๐ฎ๐ซ ๐Ž๐ฐ๐ง ๐’๐ญ๐จ๐ซ๐ฒ๐›๐จ๐จ๐คโ€ contest in celebration of the 2022 World Wildlife Day on March 3, 2022. The contest is open to all youth nationwide ages 15-20 years old.

 

The contest aims to unleash and showcase our youth’s creativity while promoting our countryโ€™s biodiversity with this year’s theme, โ€œ๐™๐™š๐™˜๐™ค๐™ซ๐™š๐™ง๐™ž๐™ฃ๐™œ ๐™†๐™š๐™ฎ ๐™Ž๐™ฅ๐™š๐™˜๐™ž๐™š๐™จ ๐™›๐™ค๐™ง ๐™€๐™˜๐™ค๐™จ๐™ฎ๐™จ๐™ฉ๐™š๐™ข ๐™๐™š๐™จ๐™ฉ๐™ค๐™ง๐™–๐™ฉ๐™ž๐™ค๐™ฃ.โ€ The theme seeks to draw attention on the state of the country’s most critically endangered species of wild flora and fauna, their role in the ecosystem and the importance of protection and conservation efforts to save them.

United Nations General Assembly Resolution16.1 designated every 3rd day of March every year as World Wildlife Day, in order to celebrate and raise awareness of the worldโ€™s wild fauna and flora, and recognized the important role of CITES in ensuring that international trade does not threaten the survival of species.
