Philippines Celebrates 2020 Environment Month

The Department of Environment and Natural Resources will spearhead this year’s Philippine Environment Month Celebration. Coinciding with the 2nd year anniversary of the enactment of the Expanded National Integrated Protected Areas System Act of 2018 (Republic Act 11038), the Biodiversity Management Bureau will hold a series of Facebook Live talks entitled “Protected Areas for a Protected Future“, a monthly online conference showcasing different protected areas in the country. The talk will highlight the importance of Protected Areas and their role in biodiversity conservation.

In partnership with the Office of Deputy Speaker Loren Legarda, the pilot episode of the live streaming will be on June 22, 2020 at 10AM at BMB’s official Facebook page.

The month of June every year is declared “Philippine Environment Month” by virtue of Presidential Proclamation no. 237 signed in 1998 by then President Corazon C. Aquino to give time and effort towards the protection, enhancement and development of the country’s environment.

We hope to see you online….
