The Mount Hamiguitan Range Wildlife Sanctuary located in the Eastern Mindanao Biodiversity Corridor in Davao Oriental,was enlisted into the UNESCO World Heritage Sites list in 2014 (the latest among the sites on this list) for its natural importance. It is a Key Biodiversity Area, home to a diverse range of flora and fauna species including several endangered and endemic species. Currently 1,403 species of flora and fauna are found in Mount Hamiguitan with 963 floral species and 440 faunal species.
