Drosera ultramafica

The Drosera ultramafica (or the Ultrmafic Sundew), is a perennial herb with short stems and semi-erect leaves ranging from green to deep red. Its inflorescence consists of 1-sided racemes with 2 to 15 flowers. The plant has glandular trichomes, and its flowers possess five narrow petals, white or pink in color. It has also five stamens, three forked-styles and ellipsoid black seeds.

Drosera ultramafica , a part of the sundew family that are carnivorous plants is vital for its ecosystem. Carnivorous plants like this play an important role in nutrient cycling by capturing and processing insects, essential for obtaining nutrients like nitrogen.
