In celebration of this year’s Coral Triangle Day, the DENR-BMB through its Coastal and Marine Division (CMD) will have an Essay Writing Contest focusing on this years theme “Love for Corals: Working Together Towards a Plastic Free Coral Triangle.” The contest is open to all incoming Grades 9 and 10 students nationwide. The deadline for the subbmission of entries is on June 30, 2020 at 6:00PM.
10 Winners will be selected and for a chance to join the next CORAL TRIANGLE SCIENCE CAMP for FREE!
As part of this year’s celebration, testimonials from students who participated in the previous Science Camps were compiled. They shared the lessons they have learned in the Science Camps and what they wish to impart to their fellow youth. The campers are joined by ambassadors and youth advocates for the environment from partner organizations in spreading the message of this year’s Coral Triangle Day which is to Work together towards a plastic-free Coral Triangle!.
Coral Triangle Day is celebrated every June 9 in conjunction with World Oceans Day which is celebrated yearly on June 8.
