Marine Protected Areas (MPAs) are designated areas aimed to conserve marine biodiversity of the area, regulating fishing activities, or protecting critical habitats. They include nationally legislated parks under the National Integrated Protected Areas System (NIPAS) and the Expanded National Integrated Protected Areas System Act of 2018.
Currently there are 75 marine protected areas totaling to 3,857,866.80 hectares.
